MCU Round 2 – Will It Hit Like the First Time?

With a new wave of MCU projects on the horizon, here’s the question I keep asking myself…

Will it be as fun, exciting, and game-changing as it was the first time around?

Back when Iron Man launched Phase 1, it felt like something special. Every post-credits scene sparked theories. Every new casting announcement made headlines. And the knock-on effect for comic collectors? Books like Tales of Suspense #39, GSX1, Strange Tales 110 — they exploded.

But now, things feel... different.

  • Is the magic still there, or are we chasing a feeling we can't quite get back?

  • Will characters like the new Wolverine, Fantastic Four, or Kang bring back that spark?

  • And from a collector’s point of view — are you expecting a new boom in keys, or are we in a different kind of market now?

Would love to hear your thoughts. Whether you’re in it for the stories, the speculation, or the nostalgia — let’s chat.

Are we ready to feel that excitement again… or was lightning never meant to strike twice?

No is the short answer.

We have to move past this idea that it should. It has potential to hit all the right notes though.

It's a new dawn. Infinity war and end game will forever be the pinnacle of the MCU for many and we won't change that almost regardless of the quality of the output.

My hope is for the next lot of fans to have theirs in here somewhere.

That and for thunderbolts* to rock like it should. I'm in love with John walker. Always have been. If they ruin it, I will have a proper good old fashioned hissy fit.

I don't think it will hit like last time but I am excited about some aspects of the next phase.

To me the Multiverse Saga is/was a bit all over the place and doesn't really know what it is.....maybe it all come to an epic conclusion.

At the moment I am looking forward to Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Blade and Avengers Doomsday.
