First Big Purchase – What Was the Comic That Hooked You?

Discuss the first comic that made you realize you were in this hobby for the long haul.

For me it was a Tales of Suspense 57 CGC 7.5 SS Stan Lee

I spent around £500 from memory and I was so nervous to own something so expensive and have it at my house. I also at one point covered it in foil thinking it would protect it if the house set on fire.

Eventually the day came when I had to sell it and I had a grip so tight on it as I walked to the post office, that not even Chuck Norris couldn't have prised it out of my hands

If memory serves, my first big purchase was a Ghost Rider 1 CGC 9.8

I don't have a picture of it unfortunately but I was very proud to own it.

Hulk 181 was my biggest comic purchase to date. I'm annoyed at myself for buying at the height of it. But I'm happy to own it none the less.
