Auction Tips

At Phoenix Auctions we aim to make the auction process as smooth and enjoyable as possible whether you're an experienced pro or a first time bidder....we've got you covered.

Since our first auction is just around the corner, I thought I'd share some key tips to help you start bidding with confidence:

  1. Research: Know the item's value, verify authenticity, and set a budget to avoid overspending.
  2. Understand the Rules: Familiarise yourself with registration, fees, and payment terms.
  3. Start Small: Practice with low stakes items to gain experience.
  4. Use Proxy Bids: Set maximum bids to avoid emotional overspending.
  5. Inspect the Item: Check the items condition via the scans/photos provided.
  6. Stay Calm: Stick to your budget and avoid impulsive decisions.

So I know we are all experienced veterans here but what advice would you add? Share your insights to help newcomers feel at ease.

I definitely agree with you, buying what you love is key because trends come and go, and long term enjoyment matters. That said, there’s also something to be said for keeping an eye on what’s hot. Balancing both approaches is a good strategy in my opinion.
